2020 Conference Organizers

Victoria Netanus Grubbs is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. Her research interests include the political economy of cultural production, transnational/diasporic cultural networks, the semiotics of sound, and the aesthetic sociality of blackness. Professionally, she is an arts educator with a commitment to developing and supporting radical leadership in underserved communities in the U.S. and abroad.

Cheraine Donalea Scott is a PhD candidate with the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. She holds an MA in Cultural and Critical Theory, from the University of Westminster, and a BA in Fashion Design from the University for the Creative Arts. Donalea is interested in the political and archival practices of Black sound, as well as its relationship to the visual. She is a 2019-2020 volunteer research fellow at the Stuart Hall Library, INIVA (in the UK). And an academic consultant for Orisun Theatre Production company on a project around music censorship in Britain, scheduled for summer 2020.
