The Urban and the Rural
Friday, October 22, 2010Center for Architecture

The United Nations proclaimed 2010 “The Year of Biodiversity.” In keeping with this emphasis on life on earth, this year’s theme for the Media, Culture and Communication graduate conference is The Urban and the Rural. Globalization challenges us to critically engage with issues of space/place, biodiversity, urbanization, rural culture, environmentalism and other ways to talk about the presumed, but problematic division between nature and culture.
